Hello
I have read that support for non-smart devices was added, that got me interested, but I do not have a ANT+ dongle, so I was wondering if support for bluetooth devices could be added (my speed/cad sensors are ANT+/Bluetooth compatible)? This works in Zwift but using a mobile device as a "proxy" for the devices so I'm guessing this could be cumbersome.
Just wondering :) If not I will try to get a hold of a ANT+ dongle.
Thanks!
I think we have this resolved. We have confirmed that OrbRider works with Garmin's USB ANT+ stick. It seems you need to close the Garmin connect application and not having it running in the background if you are experiencing connectivity issues.
You are really kind! Thanks!!!
@inesfra OK, thank you for letting me know. I'll see if I can get this same ANT+ stick to test it on my system and see if I can identify the issue.
Hi @inesfra - This is strange, your Garmin Ant + stick should work with OrbRider.
I've been having a similar issue where my Ant+ stick seems to be put to sleep by the operating system (Windows)
Can you try these steps:
1.) Quit OrbRider game
2.) Unplug your Garmin Ant+ stick from your PC
3.) Wait 30 seconds
4.) Plug your Garmin Ant+ stick into your PC
5.) Start OrbRider and look for the ANT+ indicator to turn green
Hello everyone! I use an Ant + Garmin dongle which is fine on all platforms, except for Orbrider ... how can I clean up? I have already tried to update the drives ...
Ok, I will try.
The resolution problem could be my specific setup error (I have a tripple display setup on a rx580 card). The main problem was that when I started the game again the character was flying all over the track (the stats reported Watts in thousands)
Hi @Krzysztof Antoszek- Thank you for letting me know. I'll spend some time trying to recreate this on my machine so I can see what's going on. At the very least it sounds like I need to add a way for users to reset their settings to the default values when something like this goes wrong.
If you start the game and change graphics quality to "Low" and then restart the game, does that reset everything for you?
@Krzysztof Antoszek Please check out the latest version of OrbRider 1.3.3.0... I have added a new setting in the "Gameplay" settings window called "Speed Multiplier". This setting can be used to make the biker move at a faster speed if you desire. I have been riding with my Cyclops fluid trainer a lot and realized this setting was needed to make the game smoother for me.
Thank you for trying it out and the great feedback. Another issue you may notice is that your game settings will randomly get set back to the default settings; I have that fixed in the next version. The scorpions are part of a concept I'm working on to add a backstory to the game which unfolds as you ride around each biome. They are disabled in the next version and will return again in the future once I've had more time to work out their glitches.
One of my larger goals for OrbRider has been to add a multi-player element to the game which I've recently completed and will be available in the coming weeks..
This multi-player option is just an easy way to form a quick team with four other people. It will only be enabled for the Biking mode right now. Here is a development screen capture.
Thanks again and check back in a few weeks for a new version!
Hi and thank you for your interest! Bluetooth support has been a popular request and I have invested some time and money into making this possible but ran into several issues just establishing a connection to Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) devices.
I haven't given up on adding Bluetooth support but it was starting to impede my progress on other features. I figure the ANT+ dongles only cost about $15 on Amazon and everything connects up so nicely when using one of these devices that I would prefer to just promote using ANT+ for now.
Please let me know if you do end up buying an ANT+ dongle and how the game is working for you.
